The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
