Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of reports of questionable actions involving young women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
